Join Our Chapter Leadership and Make a Difference!

Calling all passionate nurses! The Gamma Kappa Chapter of Sigma is looking for dedicated members to join our leadership board. We have a vibrant year planned, filled with exciting events and opportunities to make a real impact in our community.

Here's a glimpse of what we're up to:

• October Induction Ceremony: We'll welcome new members and their families with a memorable event. Your help will ensure it's a special occasion.
• Donation Drives: We'll continue our tradition of collecting food and clothing to support those in need.
• Fundraising and Research Support: Our annual fundraiser helps fund student research awards and the School of Nursing's Research Day, which is growing in popularity.
• Continuing Education Event: Spring semester will feature a unique learning opportunity for our members.

Leadership Positions Available (Start Date: September 1st):

• Awards Committee Chair: Lead the selection of outstanding members for recognition (usually these are students who are given awards at graduation).
• Awards Committee Member: Participate in the recognition process.
• Leadership Succession Chair: Oversee the process of identifying and preparing future leaders.
• Leadership Succession Committee Members (2): Assist the Chair in leadership development.
• Membership Ambassador: Serves as a liaison between new members and the chapter.
• Vice President: Assist the President and contribute to chapter leadership.

Flexible Involvement:

• Board Meetings: Twice per semester with remote Zoom options.
• Committee Meetings: Some committees may hold additional meetings.
• Community Leader Membership: Open to all registered nurses who want to stay involved. (Simple application process available on the website)

Leadership Development:

We're committed to member growth – this year includes at least one leadership development event! Let us know what kind of continuing education and professional development opportunities you'd like to see.
